My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult
This story is told through 6 points of view. Anna Fitzgerald, Sara Fitzgerald, Brian Fitzgerald, Jesse Fitzgerald, Campbell Alexander, and Julia, the guardian ad litem. Anna's sister, Kate, is terminally ill with cancer and Anna is her genetically created and matched donor. Sara, Anna's mother, is pressuring Anna to donate to Kate when Anna doesn't want to. Anna decides to sue her parents for medical emancipation. She does this because Kate doesn't want to live an longer with cancer and she also doesn't think Anna deserves to be in the hospital as much as Kate when she isn't even sick. In the end, after the court case, Campbell takes Anna to Julia, her official guardian ad litem, because Anna had asked to be removed from her parents' home. On the way, There is a horrible car crash and Anna is left brain-dead. Anna's mother decides to donate Anna's kidney from her lifeless body to Kate.
