The Tri-Book Challenge
For this mini-project, we - as a class - were challenged to read three books of our choice, of any length, text, language, etc... in a period of 6-9 weeks. I was, unfortunately unable to beat the challenge, not because I can't read or anything, but because I do what most 16-year old guys do: I got lazy. I finished 1 and 1/2 books. In this battle, Literature won.
This is the first book that I read. Seven Deadly Sins is a narrative about the author, Corey Taylor - Lead Singer of Slipknot and Stone Sour - and how he rose above a terrible childhood, rewriting the biblical Seven Deadly Sins in his own words. Its very comical, but chock-full of vulgar language and situations.
This is the second book; Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer is about the author on the infamous climb up the tallest mountain in the world: Everest. Based on what I did read, the book is very descriptive and very detailed, detailed so much, in fact, that he describes everything that he is feeling, everything he can see, hear, I could almost feel what he felt. I would recommend this book to those who love intense reading.
