Pinhole Project
During the Pinhole Project, we built Pinhole Cameras out of shoeboxes. We also converted our school shed into a Dark Room so we could develop our own pictures. Above, you will see an example of a picture taken with one of the cameras. We also learned about light and waves. We had a successful Exhibition at Queen Bee's in North Park, During which we sang Mass vs. Weight and Electromagnetic Spectrum, and had a Refraction Demonstration using a large, triangular prism filled with water, then we used a flashlight to be our refraction tool.
Light and Waves
The Electromagnetic Spectrum is the range of all possible frequencies of light and waves. The spectrum, when shown for waves, can range from the biggest waves known as Radio Waves, all the way to the smallest waves, Gamma Rays. This scale is also used for light, but a little differently. Waves range from Ultraviolet, having the longest wavelengths, to infrared, with the shortest.
